Brigid's Haven Charity Connection

Charities Supported by Brigids Haven

One of the main tenants of belief at Brigid's Haven is that everyone should be actively involved in acts of charity and activism if possible. We truly believe that not speaking out and acting when a wrong is committed, when someone is starving or when there are people in need it is exactly the same as condoning the action. If you can, spread a little good karma and help take care of your fellow man by making a donation to one of these organizations (be it of your time, prayers or money) or even just visit their site. One day one of these causes will hit you close to home.

Read Voice of the Voiceless by Ella Wheeler Wilcox to learn more about how Brigid's Haven feels about charity work and a witches' place in the world.

Canadian Cancer Society- I support the Canadian Cancer Society because I have lost many loved ones to cancer and every day many others lose their loved ones. Cancer should be a thing of the past and one day will be.

Breast Cancer Society of Canada- I support the Breast Cancer Society of Canada because one of my mothers friends was almost lost to breast cancer like many other women nation-wide everyday. I know that as a woman, breast cancer could one day strike me or someone I love.

Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada- I support the Heart and Stroke foundation because I lost both my father and my grandfather to heart related problems.

Kids Help Phone- I support the Kids Help Phone because I know that no child should ever have to suffer in silence.

Osteoporosis Society of Canada-I support the Osteoporosis Society of Canada because I am a victim of osteoporosis myself.

Women in Need- I support Women in Need after watching too many women suffer abuse. Abused women and children must have a place to seek refuge and help.

Greenpeace- I support Greenpeace because I know if we don't protect mother Earth, she can't protect us.
