Barnacle: Crystals covered or partially covered with smaller crystals. The larger crystal is the "Old Soul" and contains the wisdom and trust which attracts the smaller crystals. Used in meditation to provide insights to family and/or community problems. Also excellent for those employed in "service organizations" to help stimulate a group cohesiveness and willingness to work together.
Bridge: A large crystal with a smaller crystal(s) which penetrates and is located partially in, and partially out of the larger crystal. It facilitates bridging between the inner and outer worlds, between the self and others, and the self and other worlds. It is beneficial when working with the aspects of spirituality, the advanced metaphysical areas, and attempting to share this knowledge with others.
Channeling Crystals:
-seven edges surrounding the largest sloping face
-especially useful for obtaining information from deep within you or from sources that are from a multi-dimensional realm.
-can be used anytime you are seeking answers or help from outside your normal range of understanding.
-attune very carefully to the subtle voice(s) from deep within you when using this crystal, and realize that answers can come from many sources.
-amplify the quiet, inner voice of your guide and your Wholeness Navigator (soul consciousness), and can be helpful in learning how to channel information, both for yourself and for others with whom you have permission.
Clusters: Crystals which have grown together, free-standing or on a sandstone base. To foster protection, cooperation, purification, harmony, friendship and intimacy; to break up negative energy in the environment.
Curved: Crystals which have a curved shape or which the sides are curved. Produced during the developmental stages, this is a rare occurrence. They emanate a gentle yet powerful energy and can be used to cleanse the aura, promote flexibility in ones attitude, and provide strength in decisions, among other things.
Double Terminated Crystals: Crystals that have points on both ends, allowing energy to flow readily in both directions, are called double terminated. Double terminated crystals strengthen energy flow, and are especially useful when you need to share or exchange energy between you and another person. They are useful when you are working collaboratively with other energies or people, where energy needs to flow in both directions. Double terminated crystals can be very helpful to people doing healing work for themselves or others. They also help teach sharing through energy exchange.
In the more esoteric, metaphysical circles, double terminated quartz crystals are considered the single most important tool to inner self-discovery because of their ability to connect the outer seeking personality with the inner knowing consciousness. Shamanic applications have considered them gateways to the inner spirit realm and are frequently used in dreamtime rituals and power dream ceremonies. Those double terminated quartz crystals that possess unusual clarity, luster, and clean terminations are especially sought after for their abilities to convey an exchange of energy between the soul consciousness and the human personality.
Drusy: Very small points which are described as "a myriad of very closely set tiny crystals". The Drusy Clusters consist of tiny crystal points in their very formation, and are encrusted on either sandstone or quartz based matrixes. We like to think of drusy crystals for people who want to encourage ideas or thought forms ready to spring forth and grow.
Eight-Faced Crystals: Eight-faced crystals provide conservation of energy, of resources. They stimulate the removal of obstacles in ones path and provide for further installation of energy in all endeavors. They are said to be of other-worldly origination and to bring the capacity for actualization on all levels. In addition, they are said to bring order to ones life, to impart an energy of manifestation and to produce a melding of the spiritual and the angelic realms.
Elestial: The Elestial Crystal is recognized by natural terminations over the body and face of an etched and/or layered crystal. Used to assist one in overcoming emotional burdens, to bring the heart and intellect into synchronicity, and to help one look within and to find the love that has always been there.
Empathetic: Empathic crystals are ones which are chipped or damaged in some way. They promote understanding, compassion, kindness and empathy. They open and heal the hearts of those who have closed them while also protecting the open-hearted from too much pain.
Faden: A crystal in which the inclusion of one or more white thread-like fibrous formations occurs. The Faden is visible within the quartz structure because it is surrounded by either a fluid filled or gaseous chamber. The fiber is located usually at or in proximity to the center of the crystal, perpendicular to the termination of the crystal and may be linear and undeviating or curved/bent. Is a crystal of connection, stimulating and furthering connective forces between the self and that which is chosen as the recipient. It is also a stone for astral travel.
Fairy Frost: Clear crystal with fractures and inclusions within, making appear frosty. To facilitate communication with the spirits in nature; to open our hearts to the beauty and magic of nature; to encourage us to care for Mother Earth.
Generator Point: Excellent quality crystal points with a centrally located point (the facets on the point or tip are equidistant from one another, desirable for generators or wand making). They foster wisdom, focus, magical power and the wisdom to use the crystal in a proper manner.
Grounding Crystals:

-Grounding, in metaphysical terms, is the ability to deal with practical matters in a rational way
-connect you with the earth and keep your energies and vision from being scattered.
-help you think clearly, focus in the moment, and express yourself accordingly.
-When used in meditation they help you form a strong connection with higher knowledge, but keep you grounded so that you can apply that information in useful terms.
-using a grounding crystal to work through a personal dilemma or question, remember that it requires you to look at the truth of the situation and compel you to deal with that truth,

Isis Crystal:

-strongly amplify the feminine energy
-in touch with the 'female' or unselfish side of yourself (for both men and women)
-balancing your male-female energy
-put you in touch with the power of the Goddess.
-men, the Isis crystal will help you become more in tune with your feminine side and to become more aware of the aspects of women that you may find troubling.
-women, the Isis crystal will help you regain some of the power and energy that society has taken from you.
-Teaches that feminine is not weak. Anyone doing healing work with another person needs the Isis energy to be effective
-should be carried or held when dealing with issues that are emotional and difficult.
Key: Recognized by a three or six-sided indented shape located on the crystal. The indent becomes narrower as it goes within the crystal, and ends within the crystal, usually in an apex termination. It is used to unlock the "doors" to healing concepts and to those aspects of the self which tend to be illusive.
Laser Wand: A long slender crystal with small faces comprising the termination. The crystal is wider at the base than at the tip (tapers inversely), and the angles of the sides of the crystal are curved, rather than straight, in many instances. These crystals have an intimate relationship with both inner and outer space.
Manifestation: The Manifestation crystal is recognized by a small crystal totally enclosed within a larger crystal, and they are very rare. The use of the manifestation crystal requires the inner knowledge that one is a clear and perfect channel, that a pure white light provides the guiding way, and that the purity of the Divine is within the inner self. They can also be used to facilitate artistic creativity, creative thinking, agricultural pursuits, and to increase or decrease any aspect of ones life.
Multi-Terminated Crystals:
-most unusual of all crystal configurations.
-very similar to double terminated crystals except that they have multiple terminations on one end, or, in some extremely rare instances, both ends of the crystal
-highly important crystals
-amplify the intuition
-prized in the metaphysical world because of their versatility.
-can generate, exchange, transmit, and accumulate energy and thought forms better than any other crystal architecture (does it all, archetypal crystal)
-Links between the spirit world and natural world
-conduct and distribute most potent energy
Phantom Crystal: The Phantom crystal is comprised of a white or colored material and may be partial or complete. The phantoms within a crystal provide an indication of the experiences and the transformations the crystal has undergone in its evolution. The crystal represents the many phases and the many types of life which may be experienced during ones lifetime. It is one of the Earth stones to be used for redemption and cleansing of the earth. The energy of the phantom works to bring together the participants of humanity to save the planet.
Pyramid: Pyramids focus and amplify energy through their shape and molecular structure of the crystal from which they are made. The pyramid focuses energy in a tight beam through the apex and has been used to both charge and preserve objects. The energy taken on by the pyramid depends upon what type of crystal it is formed from.
Rainbow Crystals:
-internal fracture that creates a rainbow reflection from within the crystal
-good as meditation crystals for working deep within the subconscious
-lighten the mood for people experiencing sadness, grief or depression
-draw negativity from a room or a situation
-remind the open consciousness that problems (fractures) when mixed with light can create miraculous conclusions (rainbows).
Record Keepers: These oddities of the crystal world have pyramid shaped indentions or triangular elevations that appear to be etched on one or more of sloping faces of a quartz crystal. These are fairly rare, and often the pyramid inscription will not be noticed until the crystal comes into the hands of the person it was meant to work with. In some instances, one pyramid will show itself, and in other instances, they will nearly cover a crystal facing with dozens of triangular shapes. Often these crystals have a green or peach cast to one end.
Record keepers differ from window crystals in that window crystals help you look inside yourself to let you see the various things you need to learn, while record keepers deal with a specific lesson that you need to learn. A record keeper will often pass from your hands very quickly once the lesson is learned. Carry your record keeper or put it close to your bed so that it can work with you. It can also be used for meditation.
Tabular Crystals:
-Crystal with a flattened shape
-Enhance communication, smooth energy flow and integration of ideas and balance; to facilitate understanding and dialogue between people; to help us communicate with nature.
Transmitter: Transmitters are recognized by a configuration of two symmetrical seven-sided faces with a perfect triangular face located between them. Through the use of these crystals, one can connect to the highest wisdom and can receive specific information to specific circumstances, OR can receive the universal truth necessary for ones growth to enlightenment.
Twin Crystals: Sometimes called the "parent" crystal, twin crystals have two terminations (points) at the same end, which have developed from a single base. You can tell a twin crystal from two crystals that are simply attached to each other, by the fact that both parts of a twin crystal are exactly parallel to each other, and have no boundary between them in at least a small region of the crystal. These are known to be useful crystals when dealing with relationships-particularly relationships that require alignment in terms of goals or direction. They can help you gain insight into the underlying problems in a relationship whether they are competitive, unaligned goals, or lack of common ground. This works for any kind of relationship.
Window Crystals:
-clarity
-small diamond shaped face, which takes the place of one of the corners where two of the parallel faces usually meet the corresponding two sloping faces.
-introspection crystals in that they help you see what is commonly hidden from your normal, waking consciousness.
-ideal for working within yourself to deal with problems
and changes that must be made in your life
-used in meditation to help you solve problems that are preventing your innermost self from communicating and expressing in your human life
