One Year Tea Leaf Reading

One Year Tea Leaf Reading

The one year tea leaf reading is performed as follows:

Have the questioner prepare herself a cup of tea using loose tea leaves. Do not strain out the leaves. The tea should be prepared without cream and sugar for best results. If the questioner is willing, have her drink the tea while concentrating on her question. If she does not wish to drink the tea, have her hold it for a few minutes while concentrating on her question.

Drain the liquid from the tea by swirling the cup. This takes some practice, but looks like the spin cycle of a washing machine. If the tea is swirled too quickly, you will lose most of the leaves, if it is swirled too slowly, the leaves will not stick to the sides of the cup.

Once most of the liquid has drained, set the cup upside-down on a paper towel for a few seconds to allow the excess moisture to drain. Turn the cup over and read the symbols. As the symbols may lie in any direction in the cup, you should hold the cup at many angles to look for the symbols.

The cup will be read as if it contains 12, 1-month increments. The first month starts at the center of the cup handle, and time continues clockwise around the cup. Symbols closer to the rim of the cup occur earlier in the month. Symbols closer to the bottom of the cup occur later in the month. Symbols that appear on the flat bottom of the cup affect the entire year.

Symbols can either be interpreted according to lists of popular symbols found in books or on the internet, or their interpretation can be left up to the reader.

Symbols that appear less than 1/4 inch from each other affect each other's meanings and should be interpreted as a group.

NOTES: This reading should be performed in a slope-sided cup which was drained by swirling the leaves out. Symbols may lie in any direction in the cup, including upside-down and sideways.
