Use a bath towel to create a tent over your head, shoulders, and steaming herb pot. With your eyes closed, breathe deeply and relax as you cleanse your pores with this wonderful, fragrant steam. Important note: Please allow 8 to 10 inches between the steaming herb pot and your face so you wont' risk burning your skin. Lip Balm/Gloss -5 to 6 tbsp sweet almond, jojoba, castor, or quality vegetable oil -1 tbsp beeswax -2 tsp pure honey -10 drops essential oil of spearmint or peppermint for a sweet taste, or tea tree for treatment of cold sores and chapped, flaky lips (optional) -1/2 tube favorite colored moisturizing lipstick (optional) Melt together the oil and beeswax, in a small saucepan over low heat, or in a double boiler just until wax is melted. Use the larger amount of oil if you want a thinner, glossier consistency. Remove from heat. Add honey and blend mixture thoroughly. If you would like to add color to your gloss, add the piece of lipstick now, while the mixture is still hot. I usually divide the mixture into two containers; one for a colorless gloss and one for a rich cinnamon color gloss. Stir the mixture(s) occasionally as it cools to prevent separation. It should have the consistency of petroleum jelly when ready. If you choose to add an essential oil to your lip treatment, add it after the gloss has almost cooled and stir thoroughly. Back |
